IIT Mandi has been ranked 20th among engineering colleges and 12th among 23 IITs in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2022. IIT Mandi recognized the importance of the Data Science paradigm and became the first to launch B.Tech in Data Science from the academic session 2019-20. IITM strongly believes that the expertise of their Professors should not be just confined to the students who joined their institution after passing the JEE, rather it must be shared with Data Science enthusiasts from different verticals.

IITM collaborated with NSDC to launch their certificate programs in Data Science for professionals from all walks of life. The certification has been meticulously designed in a way to ensure that it doesn’t require prior programming knowledge. This program is unique as IIT Mandi has equipped their regular classroom with equipment and the Technologies required to relay the selected class of B.Tech Data Science program for the students joining this course remotely
